Revamp your blazer

Who doesn't love a classic black blazer? It can transform a spring dress for a dressy yet edgy look or complete a white t-shirt and skinnies.

"I've been reading a lot about white blazers but I don't know if I can pull off the look," said Jackie Yoken OU senior. "I love the structure of a jacket but don't know what to wear it with".

A white or light blazer looks great with flowy florals or a tailored blouse and skirt. I also love it with a sheath dress or over preppy stripes.

Bohemian is BACK

What ideas come to mind when you think Boho chic?
Effortless, cool, free, flowing...

"Boho chic is one of my favorite looks because it's all about reaching the ultimate level of style while maintaining optimum comfort," said Claire West OU senior.

Neon

Spring means color, and we tend to wear color in safe places like shoes, handbags, jewelry and even in our lip gloss, but what about the basics? Yes, it is time to push over the khaki’s, the browns, the blacks, and the skinny jeans for a fun and fierce color poppin’ tops and bottoms.

From electric blues to powerful pinks, these key pieces are a must-have for the spring, and can even be worn for work or weekend!

We all tend to lean on the neutrals because they are easy to wear, but once you find the right bright, this colorful look will fall into place..."a bold splash of color here and there is refreshing and it really makes a gal stand out in a sea of beige!" said Lilliana Vazquez author of Cheap Chica's Guide to Style blog.

White-out!

White on white sounds like a scary color combo, or lack thereof, but when worn correctly it can pop.

Mix and match these fun pieces to complete these looks!

Flower power

Flirty florals are all the rage this season, and you can't go wrong with this 70's trend.

Try pairing a flowered skirt with a jean jacket and some classic wedges or a bold floral top with a pair of skinny crop white jeans for a look that's fresh and fun for spring!

Top must have- Crochet!

I love this trend because it's bold and makes a statement without going over the top. Crochet allows you to show a little skin without bearing it all, and is a top must have for spring!

Even though crochet can sometimes scream old lady, by following these tips you will look effortlessly fashionable:

" 1. Look for dresses with crocheted embellishments. Since crochet is already part of the outfit, it’ll be a no-brainer to style.
2. A crocheted vest will look great with almost anything in your closet.
3. Crocheted sweaters (especially cropped ones) are perfect for springtime weather. They’ll look great over a dress or a tank top and jeans.
4. For a really daring look, try wearing a bandeau under a crocheted top. Be sure to pair it with jeans or a conservative skirt to keep the look classy.
5. Don’t pair crocheted clothing with too other many “hippie” trends, such as wooden platforms, bell bottoms, a hippie headband, or a peasant top. One other hippie-esque item is fine, but rock too many, and you risk looking like you’re wearing a costume.
6. To keep from looking Grandma-esque, pair crochet pieces with tougher items like leather, denim, or boots," rules from OU student Chelsea Cawood, College Fashion blog writer.

Lace lace lace!

I've always been a fan of the romantic lace trend, but this Spring lace has been revamped to a more antique-style lace that is sturdier and more versatile. Take a simple lace dress and pair it with some classic peeptoes and a girly clutch or throw on a cropped leather jacket and booties and you have a completely different look!

Color is the new neutral

No longer is it necessary to punch up your boring blacks, beiges and grays with a pop of color because this spring all bets are off. The more color combos that can be mixed together, the better.

Since all you need is simple separates in solid colors, you probably already have everything you need to create the perfect look.

It’s simple; just use your basic color wheel rules to find your perfect color pair. Bright pink and orange or blue and lilac are two of my favorite combos now!

J. Crew always has the best basics in awesome colors,” said Lilliana Vazquez, author of the Cheap Chica’s blog. “I got this t-shirt in lemon pulp and have been mixing it with everything from my favorite purple blazer or my bright green clutch and aqua blue pumps.”

Break out the brights without breaking the bank with this easy and fun spring trend!
